  • Junior Parent night May 12 5p via zoom.  Register to attend 

  • Junior Senior Prom May 14th, 2022- $30 per person. Please purchase your ticket as soon as possible. We need to secure the venue.

  • Title I Survey will go live May 2nd. This survey will be posted to our website. Parents we would love to hear from you. 

  • Progress Reports will go home on Wednesday, May 4th 

  • May 2nd-6th is Teacher Appreciation Week, please send an email or card to your child’s teacher to say Thanks for all they do!  A teacher’s day does not end at 4pm, after 4 they become coaches, ticket box agents, theater production managers, prom chaperones, dance decorators, club leaders and so much more.  A public thank you to my staff for all they do.

  • There will be an interest meeting for all that plan to tryout for Cheer. This meeting will cover tryout dates, requirements, and expectations.  It will be Monday April 25th at 630 in the cafeteria.

Good Evening This is Erica Blackwell, Principal of Reidsville High School an IB World School calling with updates for the week of April 18th.  I hope that you have enjoyed your spring break.  Spring break will end on April 18th, students will return to campus on Tuesday, April 19th.  

 

  • The Junior and Senior Prom will be held on May 14th from 7-11pm at the Wright Memorial Center in Eden North Carolina. 

Tickets will be sold through May 11th at the cost of $30 per person.

3/13/22

  • Safety Message- Please do not have your child to cross cypress to load your vehicle from the church parking lot.  This is causing an additional backup and is a huge safety concern. We have many inexperienced drivers who are not expecting students to run out in front of them.  We are working with the church to secure their lot.  Thank you.

  • Seniors, please share all scholarship and college acceptance information with Ms. Wood!

  • April is National Poetry Month and we are having a Poetry Contest!

  • Ten winners will have their poems featured on the poetry MakerSpace Bulletin Board and receive a reward. All poems need to be submitted by Monday, March 28th.

  • To submit your poem, please email the document or google slide to Ms. Howell at fhowell@rock.k12.nc.us with the subject as “Poetry Contest”. Thank you!

  • Seniors: You still have time to complete the Free Application for Student Aid, commonly known as the FAFSA! Schedule an appointment with Ms. Wood ASAP to complete this important step for post-grad planning.

  • With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, please plan to give your “special Valentine’s” gift at home. We will not accept deliveries at the school.  Also, oversized stuffed animals, balloons, and glass vases are not permitted on the bus or at school for safety reasons.  

  • Yearbooks are $60.00 until Monday, Feb. 14th! Get yours today! Go to the MakerSpace during Pride or order online at jostens.com.

  • The Student Council will be hosting a Winter Formal on February 19th from  7-11 pm. The cost will be $15 for RHS students and $20 for guests. Tickets sales will begin on February 10th during all four lunches and end on February 17th.  You must not have any OSS during the second semester to attend. 

  • Attention Seniors: The priority deadline to complete the FAFSA and receive maximum financial aid is March 1st. Students who are interested in attending a 2-year or 4-year college, vocational training program, or still figuring out their plans after high school should file the FAFSA to be eligible for financial aid and support. If you need any assistance, please reach out to Ms. Wood to set up an appointment to complete it ASAP!

  • If you play(ed) a winter sport (swimming, basketball, wrestling, or cheer), team pictures will be taken on Thursday, Feb. 17th in the main gym from 3:15-6:00pm.  Please see your coaches for more information.

  • Anime Club is back on Wednesdays in Mr. Bradshaw's room, B114. Come learn about Japanese culture, watch anime, play video games, enjoy food, and be with friends.

  • Please remember that we are not accepting deliveries at the school for students.  This includes, but is not limited to:  DoorDash, Flowers, Balloons, Gifts, and so forth. Students are not permitted to order lunch and have it dropped off to them during the school day.  Breakfast and lunch are provided “free of charge” to every student on campus or students may opt to pack a lunch from home.

Good evening.  This is Ms. Blackwell, Principal of Reidsville High School, an IB World School, calling with our weekly announcements.

  • Thank you to our Ram Care parent support committee.  The Honor roll celebration was a success!  Our students enjoyed music, refreshments and each other. Congratulations to our students for reaching their academic goals!  If you fell short of your expectations 1st semester, talk with your teachers on ways you can improve your grades.  

  • Students received a paper form last week in order to register for their courses next school year.  Parents should review this with their child and sign the form.  Registration forms are due to their PRIDE teachers by Tuesday, February 1st.  

  • Congratulations to the RHS Swim Team and Coach Bradshaw for coming in 3rd place in the 2A Conference.  The girl’s team received the “Sportsmanship Award.”  Senior Dylan Law won the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke as well as being named the MVP of the meet.  We wish him the best at the Regional Meet.

  • The Student Council will be hosting a Winter Formal on February 19th from  7-11 pm. The cost will be $15 for RHS students and $20 for guests.   • On February 2nd and 3rd from 3:30 PM till 6:00 PM, our performing arts department will have auditions for our upcoming spring musical, "Hairspray"!  For the audition, you will need to only come to one day.  You will sing a small 16 bar song, learn and perform a piece of dance choreography, and perform a small scene with the script in your hand.  Make sure to bring your music and clothes that you can easily move around in. If you have any questions about the audition on February 2 and 3 from 3:30 PM till 6:00 PM, please contact Mr. Murphy. 

  • If you are an avid player of trading card games or would like to learn how then do we have an opportunity for you!  On Friday, February 4, 2022, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM Mr. Murphy will be hosting the Trading Card Gaming Club!  We will meet on stage in the theatre.

Good evening.  This is Mr. Rice, Assistant Principal of Reidsville High School, an IB World School, calling with our weekly announcements.

  • Tomorrow, all students will report to their 2nd-semester classes.  Please check CANVAS for your schedule.  

  • Report cards will be distributed to students on Tuesday, January 25th.  

  • Any students who need to complete any make-up testing will be notified by Mr. Knight or Ms. Stubblefield.  Please watch your emails for information.

  • The RCS Board of Education is wanting your feedback for their new Superintendent Search.  A link to the survey has been posted on the school and district websites.  It is asked that responses be completed by February 4th.

  • The guidance department will hold class meetings this week to begin the registration process for the 2022 - 2023 academic year.  Registration will begin the following week.  Please talk with your child about courses they would like to register for before they complete the online registration.

  • Our Performing arts department is preparing for auditions for our spring musical "Hairspray"! Auditions for "Hairspray" will be February 1 and 2 from 3:30 till 6:00. Please have a short 16 bars of an audition song ready, Happy Birthday is acceptable, and wear clothes that you can freely move in for the dancing portion. We look forward to seeing you there! If you have any further questions, please ask Mr. Murphy in room 108 or in the theatre.

  • All-County Band Auditions will take place this Thursday, January 27th.  Any band members interested in auditions should see Mr. Callands.

  • EOC exams went well, students who missed their assessment due to quarantine, please inform your teacher so a make-up can be arranged. 

  • Tomorrow Monday Jan. 17th, school will be closed in observance of MLK day.  

  • Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 18th & 19th are teacher workdays.  Students will return on Thursday, Jan. 20th.  

  • Semester II will begin on Jan. 20th, students should check canvas to see class changes.  Schedules will delivered on Thursday morning in the commons area.

Good evening.  This is Ms. Blackwell, Principal of Reidsville High School, an IB World School, calling with our weekly announcements:

  • Parents, we need your help.  If your child is a car rider, please ensure you pick them up in the front circle.  We need to keep the Cypress lot accessible for shuttle buses and special transportation for students.  Also, Grace Fellowship has asked that families refrain from pick-up in the church parking lot.

  • Starting tomorrow, Monday, January 10th, we will administer final exams for Math I, Math III, English II, Biology, and CTE Exams.  Please see our website for the exam schedule.

  • Once exams begin, students who are late for the exam will not be permitted in the exam room and will be scheduled for the make-up day.  

  • Students taking exams are not permitted to leave the exams until the entire session has been completed for all examinees (usually around 1:00 pm).

  • Students:  On the days you do not have a scheduled EOC or CTE exam, you have the option to work remotely. To be counted present for each class period, you must complete the online assignments for each class by 3:00 pm daily.

  • RCC Classes will begin on Monday, Jan. 10th.  Textbooks/class codes will be delivered to RHS on Monday.  You may begin picking up your RCC materials from guidance after 1:00 pm on Monday.

Good evening and Happy New Year!!!  This is Ms. Blackwell, Principal of Reidsville High School, an IB World School, calling with our weekly announcements:

  • Tomorrow, Monday, January 3rd will be a teacher workday.  Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 4th.  Remember that classes begin promptly at 8:25am.  

  • Per the updated guidelines and recent School Board decision, beginning Tuesday, masks are optional at school and school-sponsored events unless an individual is following the new CDC guidelines for quarantine/exposure.  However, anyone may still wear their mask if they wish.  

  • Friday, January 7th marks the end of the 2nd quarter.  Students need to ensure all assignments are submitted on time in order to receive credit.

  • Beginning on Monday, January 10th, we will administer final exams for Math I, Math III, English II, Biology, and CTE Exams.  Please see our website for the exam schedule.

Good evening.  This is Ms. Blackwell, Principal of Reidsville High School, an IB World School, calling with our weekly announcements:

  • This Friday will be an early release day for the beginning of the holiday break.  Students will be dismissed at 1:30pm.  On Friday, the student body will enjoy a performance of “A Christmas Carol” during the school day.  Student checkout will not be possible between 9am-12noon. 

  • Great news from our CTE Dept., Mrs King’s Business & Finance class, wrote a business plan to improve the Cafeteria, this proposal was funded for $1,000. Congratulations to the students and Mrs. King, great work. 

  • Our Performing Arts Department will be performing "A Christmas Carol" on December 17 and 18 at 7:00 PM and December 19 at 2:30 PM. Tickets are seven dollars for students and ten dollars for adults. Don't be a humbug and miss this opportunity to support a phenomenal group of hardworking students!

  • Celebrate the upcoming holidays by participating in our Holiday Spirit Weeks. Remember to follow the school dress code while participating in the fun!

  • Student Council will be selling Candy Cane Gram's during all four lunches beginning Wednesday, December 8th through Wednesday, December 15th. The cost is $1.00 and they will be delivered on Thursday, December 16th. Please see Ms. Walls or Ms. Mitchell if you have any questions.

  • There will be a cumulative exam on Dec. 15th and 16th for students currently enrolled in (Earth and Enviro, Eng. I, Math II) ….  This exam will provide important data for the end of semester instruction.  Mastery of 70% or better, may exempt you from the final exam, so students, do your best.

  • Attention RHS Seniors and Families:

Do you need to complete the Free Application for Student Aid/FAFSA? Come out to the Finish the FAFSA Workshop on December 16th from 5pm to 7pm in the MakerSpace.  If your student plans to attend a 4-year college, 2-year (community college), or vocational training that requires the FAFSA - complete the FAFSA ASAP to qualify for grants, scholarships, work-study, and/or loans. It is important that the FAFSA is submitted before January 1st. After the 1st, available funds decrease drastically!  For the workshop, be sure to bring: Parent and Student Social Security Numbers, 2020 Federal Tax forms such as 1040, 2020 W-2s, and a personal computer or student Chromebook.  If you know in advance you can not attend the FAFSA Workshop, please reach out to our college advisor Ms. Wood to schedule an appointment during the week!

  • On Thursday, December 9th, we will hold a parent Curriculum Night beginning at 5:00 pm. The RCS choral concert will follow that evening beginning at 7:00 PM.  We encourage you to stay and enjoy some holiday music.

  • Celebrate the upcoming holidays by participating in our Holiday Spirit Weeks. Remember to follow the school dress code while participating in the fun!

Good evening.  This is Mr. Rice, Assistant Principal of Reidsville High School, an IB World School, calling with our weekly announcements:

  • This past Friday, the varsity football team completed their fall 2021 season. While their journey towards the state championship has come to an end, we are proud of their hard work as they were undefeated in the regular season.

  • The WorkKeys test will be administered tomorrow to those seniors who completed a CTE Capstone course. Teachers should send students to their assigned rooms by 8:30 am.

  • The RHS FBLA will hold its induction ceremony on Wednesday at 5:00 pm in the Maker Space.  All inductees should have received an invitation.

  • Attention Seniors - We want to celebrate you! Please forward all college acceptances, scholarships, and military enlistments to Ms. Wood. It can be a physical letter from the mail, a PDF, an email, or even a screenshot. Thank you in advance!

  • The Rock-A-Top apprentice program is an excellent opportunity for students to learn a trade and earn money and experience while finishing high school.  Any current sophomore or junior interested in applying for the Rock-A-Top apprentice program must apply by December 31st and attend an information session.  A link for further information has been placed on our school website at www.reidsvillehigh.org.

Good evening.  This is Ms. Blackwell, Principal of Reidsville High School, an IB World School, calling with our weekly announcements:

  • Students - when you get lunch in the cafeteria, you must take an entree, fruit or veggie and milk in order for your lunch to be free.  This is a requirement of the Federally funded “National School Lunch Program.”  If you do not take a complete lunch, your account will be charged for “a la carte” items.  

  • Underclassmen will have picture retakes on Friday, Nov. 19th. This is the FINAL CALL. They need to register by Wednesday, Nov. 17th  at 5 pm to be put on the list. Please remind your students.

  • Parents, Bus arrival and drop off at Reidsville High School takes place in the Cypress lot each morning. Students are not allowed to be dropped off in that area or picked up in the afternoons from that lot. Cars are not allowed on the bus lot in the afternoons while buses and students are in the lot. Please drop off students in the designated areas requested by school personnel which is in front of the school building. These locations are designated for safety purposes and it’s important to follow these procedures.

Good evening.  This is Ms. Blackwell, Principal of Reidsville High School, an IB World School, calling with our weekly announcements:

  • All parents are invited to an information session about free college with no debt for students interested in the RockATOP Apprenticeship program. The session will be held at the Agricultural Extension Center at 525 NC 65, Reidsville on Tuesday night, November 9 at 6:00 p.m. Company and RCC representatives will be available to discuss this option with parents, guardians and students.

  • Attention Seniors: Rockingham Community College will be hosting a FAFSA Parent Night Wednesday, November 10th from 6pm-7pm. The event is open to all Rockingham County Students. Join Ms. Wood at the Advanced Technology Building Auditorium at RCC to get one-on-one help with the RDS and FAFSA!

  • Attention Students - There will be a Spanish Club meeting on Wednesday, November 10th from 3:35 - 4:15 in Mrs. Espinosa's room, room 401. All are welcome.

  • In observance of Veteran’s Day, the school will be closed on Thursday.

  • Friday will be a Remote Teacher Workday.  The building will be closed as well for business.

  • Families, this is a friendly reminder that we are not accepting food or other deliveries for students at the school.  We understand that a student may forget their lunch.  However, ALL students receive free breakfast and lunch this year in the cafeteria.  Deliveries or dropoffs will not be accepted.  This includes, but is not limited to flowers, Door Dash, etc…

  • Also, students are not permitted to leave campus during the school day.  Note that students arriving after 8:25 am are considered tardy to school.
